Citi Stop Convenience Store & Gas Station
Citi Stop’s existing structure was covered in out dated layers and in need of extensive repair. Originally constructed in 1968 as a Shell Service Station in the then new California Ranch Style popularized for its less commercial design. For us it was an important design criterion to respect the intention of the original design. Key details included removing the exterior striped panels hiding the rooflines as well as removing the acoustical tile ceiling exposing a beautiful tongue and groove wood ceiling. The renovation restored the original gabled glass storefront and the installation of two operable glass garage doors into the former bays. A floor to ceiling tile fountain soda wall, crisp wall colors, period pendant lighting and custom metal signage top off the new Citi Stop look.
